ABOUT THE EVENT

At Portalegre Polytechnic University, Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) embody our commitment to innovation, inclusion, and international collaboration. Designed under the Erasmus+ framework, these short, high-impact learning experiences combine online preparation with intensive face-to-face sessions in Portalegre, Portugal, allowing students and teachers from diverse European institutions to co-create knowledge and share perspectives.

Our BIPs are more than academic courses — they are immersive journeys that foster intercultural dialogue, teamwork, and practical problem-solving in real-world contexts. Each programme reflects the Polytechnic’s interdisciplinary spirit and its close connection to regional and global challenges.

  • Climate Changes explores environmental sustainability and adaptation strategies, empowering students to design innovative responses to climate crises affecting communities and industries.
  • Creative Tourism invites participants to discover how culture, creativity, and technology can drive sustainable tourism experiences rooted in local identity.
  • Rethinking Marketing challenges conventional business approaches, encouraging learners to integrate ethics, digital innovation, and social responsibility into contemporary marketing strategies.
  • Aging in Place focuses on inclusive design and social innovation, addressing how technology and community engagement can enhance quality of life for older adults.

Together, these programmes illustrate Portalegre Polytechnic University’s mission to bridge knowledge, creativity, and social impact — fostering learning without borders and preparing a new generation of globally minded professionals.

Target Audience and Credits

The Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) at Portalegre Polytechnic University are designed for undergraduate and master’s students from a wide range of disciplines who wish to experience international and interdisciplinary learning in a collaborative environment. Participants are expected to have an interest in topics such as sustainability, innovation, digital transformation, social inclusion, and cultural development — depending on the focus of each course.

Each BIP combines online preparatory sessions with a short intensive week in Portalegre, promoting teamwork, intercultural exchange, and applied project-based learning.

Upon successful completion, participants receive an official Erasmus+ certificate and ECTS credits (typically 3 ECTS, depending on the programme and partner institution recognition). These credits can be integrated into the student’s academic pathway, contributing to their personal and professional development within a European learning context.
