Maria Isabel Borges

Prof. Maria Isabel Borges received his Diploma in Geology of Engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, in 1988, his Master’s Degree in Engineering Geology from Nova University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal, in 1994, the Diploma of Advanced Studies from the PhD in Physics and Mathematics, in the University of Extremadura (Badajoz, Spain), and concluded its Ph.D. in Modelling and Experimentation in Science and Technology at the University of Extremadura in 2019. She has an Educational Certified Trainer in Engineering Sciences and Statistics from the Scientific-Pedagogical Council of Continuing Teacher Education, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. She is a Researcher at VALORIZA – Research Center for Endogenous Resource Valorization in Portalegre, Portugal, and a professor at the Polytechnic University of Portalegre, Portugal, where she has taught since 1990. She teaches several subjects in Civil Engineering and Mathematics. She was President of the Scientific Council of the Superior School of Technology, Management and Design in Portalegre, Polytechnic University. She is also a peer reviewer at several international scientific journals, namely “Science of the Total Environment “and “Building Materials”.

Cristina Dias

Cristina Paula da Silva Dias, completed a degree in Applied Mathematics (University of Évora, Portugal), concluded the Master of Applied Mathematics (University of Évora, 2000, Portugal); and the Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, (University of Évora, 2013, Portugal). She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Data Analysis in Social Sciences (University Institute of Lisbon, 2015, Portugal). She began her professional career in 1996 as a teacher of secondary public education and entered university education in the year 2000, where she teaches Linear algebra and analytic geometry; Statistics; Probability and statistics; Quantitative methods; Mathematics; Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences; Operational Research, to Engineering and Business Sciences courses. His current research work is in Statistics Literacy, Multivariate Data Analysis, Generalized Linear Models, Mixed Linear Models, Computational Statistics, Life Sciences, Environmental Statistics, Statistical Modeling in Educational Sciences, and member of the Portuguese Society of Statistics, Portuguese Society of Mathematics, Member of the Portuguese Operational Research Association. She is a member of the Center for Mathematics and Applications, SST, New University of Lisbon-NOVAMath, Caparica, Portugal.

Sérgio Correia

Prof. Sérgio D. Correia received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2000, his Master’s Degree in Industrial Control and Maintenance Systems from Beira Interior University, Covilhã, Portugal, in 2010, and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2020. He is a Professor at the Portalegre Polytechnic University, Portugal, where he is the head of the Laboratory for Electronics and Instrumentation (LEI). He is a Researcher at NOVA School of Science and Technology, Center of Technology and Systems (UNINOVA-CTS), and VALORIZA – Research Center for Endogenous Resource Valorization, Portalegre Polytechnic University, Portalegre, Portugal. His current research interests are Embedded Artificial Intelligence, Soft Computing, Embedded Systems, and Computer Architecture, topics on which he is an editor of several scientific journals and a collaborator at several International Conferences.

Ana Loures

PhD in Design from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon (2025), she completed a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Algarve (2012) and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field (2009). Her research focuses on territorial design, sustainability, and climate change, with particular emphasis on climate risk mitigation and adaptation, the cultural and environmental valorisation of low-density territories, community engagement, and the integration of innovative practices in planning, public participation, and risk communication. She is the author and co-author of books, book chapters, and scientific articles published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, as well as collective volumes and special issues of international journals. Her academic and professional trajectory combines teaching, scientific production, and collaboration in applied research projects, demonstrating a consistent commitment to sustainable development, climate risk reduction, and the valorisation of territories.

Kaie Eha 

Kaie Eha is a leading lecturer in Environmental Technology and Management, specializing in ecology, environmental protection, and the transition toward sustainable and climate-resilient systems. With extensive experience working with private companies, she provides professional training in ESG practices, circular economy strategies, and sustainable resource management, helping organizations align with European environmental standards and the goals of the European Green Deal. She has also worked in the public sector at Estonian Environmental Board as Environmental Protection Planning specialist. At TTK University of Applied Sciences she is teaching subjects such as Geoinformatics, Circular Economy and Social Innovation, Environmental Ethics, Ecology, Environmental Protection.

Alla Iļjina

Dr. Alla Iļjina is an Associate Professor at the Baltic International Academy. She earned her PhD in Economics in 2019 and holds an MBA. Her research interests lie in marketing and sustainable development, with a strong focus on business models, management, and sustainability-driven innovation. Her recent academic work and international publications concentrate on the sharing economy as a driver of sustainable development, highlighting its potential to support green transformation, resource efficiency, and responsible consumption. Dr. Iļjina actively contributes to academic discussions on sustainability and business transformation amid global environmental and societal challenges.

Svetlana Polovko-Valtere

Svetlana Polovko-Valtere is the Head of the Study Direction “Tourism” and the study programmes “Tourism and Hospitality Management” (Bachelor) and “Enterprise management in the leisure and entertainment industry” (Master) at the Baltic International Academy. She has an MBA and research interests in insurance, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. Her recent academic work is in these areas. She has practical experience in academic work, organizational skills for different types of events and conferences.

Desislava Stoilova

Desislava Stoilova is an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics, South-West University “Neofit Rilski”, Bulgaria, with over 25 years of teaching and research experience. She holds a PhD in Finance with a specialization in financial decentralization and intergovernmental fiscal relations. Her teaching portfolio includes courses in corporate finance and public finance, and she has extensive experience in national and international research projects. Desislava Stoilova is the author of more than 70 scholarly publications, contributing to the advancement and application of effective methods and tools for financial management in both the public and private sectors.

Stoyan Tanchev

Stoyan Tanchev, an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics at South-West University “Neofit Rilski” in Bulgaria, has over 15 years of teaching and research experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance, specializing in public finance and the EU budget. His teaching portfolio includes courses in public finance and fiscal policy. He is the author of over 50 scientific publications related to optimal taxation, tax policy, economic growth, and tax and inequality.
